Die Tänzerin und der Gangster - Arbeitsweise

Synopsis:
Toni (Sara Engels) a single mother dreams of a musical career.
However, Toni is always caught up in her past. This takes away her ease to shine on stage. The aspiring musical performer meets the mysterious, charming Tom ( Christopher Patten). The encounter ensures that she takes new courage and that everything will finally turn out better. Toni has no idea that Tom is hiding a dark secret that will soon shake up her world... Will Toni still manage to rise above herself in the end and go her own way? (The film and television series information portal)

Working Method :
Almost the entire film could be realized in the studio.
The challenge was to use the studio building of my previous production, "Nix Festes," for sustainability reasons and financial and pandemic reasons again without this becoming obvious. I.e. From the previous pub became by rebuilding, other color and another furnishing now a playhouse.
One shared apartment becomes the apartment of our single mother, and the other shared apartment becomes an apartment with a long corridor.
The former roller disco and club becomes a theatre rehearsal stage.
An Aikido Center becomes an indoor flea market. The studio corridors and adjoining rooms become theatre corridors, masks and dressing rooms.
A few scenes could and had to be shot outside the studio because the Corona situation was temporarily loosened, and we were allowed to shoot on location again. So the cemetery, the flower store and Tom's apartment.
That is, I will show here as an illustrative comparison not how the motif was built but how it looked in my previous production and how in "Die Tänzerin und der Gangster".

Concept:
We roughly divided the look of the film, the different worlds into three color-furnishing spectrums.
The theater world plays mainly in burgundy and golden tones in front of the stage and backstage with all shades of black over gray to white and selectively red. Glamour in front of the stage in contrast to the working atmosphere backstage....

The world in which Toni lives with your daughter is colorful and playful, to which we have applied saturated bold shades. Everything becomes more and more alive until ...
Whereas Tom's debt collectors and players world is rather dreary black, white and earth-colored. Color only comes into the darkness at night through lighting. Everything is bleak until....
