Nix Festes II - Arbeitsweise

"Nix Festes" that is the life situation in which the two author-colleagues and ex-love partners Wiebke and Jonas find themselves. Wiebke lives with her girlfriend Jenny, a student, and Jonas lives next door to his friend Basti, a cook, in one of the last non-gentrified shared flats in Berlin Kreuzberg. They belong to the "Generation Relationship Incapable" Phenomenal successes are followed by terrific setbacks: quarreling, falling in and out of love are part of everyday life.
On the ground floor is their regular pub, where the landlord Lennart is available to you in almost all life situations with advice and support.

Working Method:
"Nix Festes II" was made in the corona year 2020.
After the complete series was supposed to be shot on location, the shooting had to be put on hold for the time being because of the first lockdown.
For me, this presented the beautiful and challenging opportunity to create the safest possible shooting environment in the form of a studio building.
I kept to the distance and ventilation rules that prevailed at the time. I planned the building to occupy 4 square meters of space in the room for each actor and each necessary team member. Each room was given enough ventilation options. In addition to doors and windows, there were also drop walls and open ceilings. For sustainability reasons and in the hope of continuing the series, we chose a modular construction method. This means that the basic layout of the rooms is relatively uniform, wall elements can be exchanged, and, for example, one and the same flexible ceiling element can be used for all rooms. But most importantly, the building can be easily rebuilt, dismantled and stored within the studio. If necessary, it should also be convertible and temporarily usable between the seasons for other projects that have to be moved to the studio because of Corona. ( see follow-up project "Toni &Tom")
In fact, during the shooting, we extended the construction of the pub by its exterior and the street in front of it.  In many more locations, in the end, almost the whole series was moved into the studio because the shooting conditions outside the studio didn't get more accessible for the second lockdown.
So, in the end, we only shot the essential exterior sets on location and at the very end of the shooting time, but fortunately, we were able to finish the shooting.
